Hong Kong Air Cargo to lease B747-400(F)s from Atlas Air

Hong Kong Air Cargo(RH,Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok) will wet-lease a total of threeB747-400(F)s fromAtlas Air(5Y,New York JFK) the US cargo specialist has revealed in a statement.

The first aircraft will enter service in September 2017 and will serve routes between Asia and the USA. The second and third aircraft are expected to enter service at some point during 2018.

A unit ofHong Kong Airlines(HX,Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok), Hong Kong Air Cargo secured its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) from the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (CAD) in April this year.

Taipei warns Chinese carriers against using border routes

The Taiwanese Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) has warned Chinese carriers not to use four air routes unilaterally opened by China over the Taiwan Strait as operations there can pose a safety danger, The Taipei Times has reported.

The CAA said that by allowing northbound traffic to use the M503 route, as well as by unilaterally opening the three extension routes W121, W122, and W123 to air traffic, China has violated the terms of a 2015 agreement between Beijing and Taipei.
